Biography

Barbara Schwarzwalder Casey was born in Champaign, Illinois in 1960. She graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, in 1982 and from Northern Illinois University College of Law in DeKalb, Illinois, in 1985. She was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1985 and worked as an associate attorney for Ed Diedrich and Associates in DeKalb before moving to Colorado with her husband and now partner, Jim Casey.

Barb was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1985 and was admitted to the Colorado bar in 1989. She taught business law as a part-time instructor at Fort Lewis College in Durango in 1988, and again in 1995. Ms. Casey served as legal research attorney for Judge Grace Merlo for the 22nd Judicial District in 1989-90. Beginning in 2000, Barb worked as one of two legal research attorneys for the district court judges for the 6th Judicial District in La Plata County. Barb joined her husband in forming Casey & Casey, LLC, in 2005.
